Are there any special instructions for using Ziploc® Brand Containers in the microwave or freezer?
Before using any Ziploc® Brand Container for the first time, wash it thoroughly.
Defrost & Reheat: Partially open the container by pulling up on the lid tab. This will allow steam to vent during the microwaving process. The container may be hot during microwaving, so handle carefully. Do not use Ziploc® Brand Containers in conventional ovens, under browning elements, or over stovetops.
To freeze: Fill the container to within 1/4" to 1/2" from the top to allow for freezer expansion, then snap on the lid to seal. Too much air space in the container can cause ice crystals to form. If there is going to be a significant amount of empty space in the container, wrap solid food items with Saran™ Brand Plastic Wrap, then place them in the container. Store securely. The container becomes slightly brittle at 30°F - 40°F (or below) and may crack if dropped.
How long can I expect a Ziploc® Brand Container to last?
Ziploc® Brand Containers are disposable and are not intended to last as long as more expensive containers. A container's life expectancy can be affected by how often it's used and how it's used. If the lid should no longer seal adequately, or if the container cracks, simply replace the container with a Ziploc® Brand Container.
Where can I buy Ziploc® Brand Containers?
Ziploc® Brand Containers are sold in the U.S. in grocery, drug, and discount stores. If you live in the U.S., you can also place an order through the SC Johnson Direct Mail Order service. Credit card orders call 1-800-848-2588. Or fax orders to: 1-920-751-5850.
Are Ziploc® Brand Containers kosher?
Yes.
