If you're taking salad on the road, keep it from wilting by filling a Ziploc® Brand Freezer Bag with ice and setting it on top of the salad container.

To help prevent freezer burn, place your food in bag and lay bag flat. Press as much air as you can out of the bag. Close the bag seal until one inch remains open. Press remaining air out of the bag; then seal the bag completely. You could also use the Ziploc® Brand Vacuum Freezer System, which uses a pump to remove even more air.

My wife and I have a small home based bakery business and we use the Ziploc Bags all the time. We make homemade tamales and during the Holiday Season we're blessed with alot of business. To save time, make rice ahead in a big batch and freeze in meal-size portions in Ziploc® Brand Freezer Bags. At meal time, reheat the rice in the microwave oven with a teaspoon or two of water.

Cook pasta about 5 minutes short of al dente. Cool and put 2 cups per quart Ziploc Freezer Bag. Flatten and stack in freezer. Pull out a bag, microwave to al dente and presto dinner. The bags are also good for homemade soups and about anything else you can put in them.

Never did I think that I would be flipped out of the raft into rough rapids and water over my head. But that's what happened. I am happy to say that I did not drown, and my camera was dry as a bone inside the Ziploc Bag after taking an accidental dive into the raging Guadalupe River! My digital camera is as good as new because Ziploc Bags really do not leak! I don't advise this manuever just to test them, but I'm sold!

My husband and I love to cook with chicken cutlets. When boneless chicken breasts are on sale we buy in large quanity and fillet the breasts ourselves. Then we portion them into freezer bags in one thin layer and label and freeze them..then when frozen I stand the bags upright, side by side..this really saves space!

I use gallon Freezer Bags to organize my tie-down straps in my pickup truck. Normally they become a 'nest of snakes' with hooks on both ends becoming entangled in adjacent straps etc. Putting one tie down in each bag allows me to pull out four bags from the storage bin to get four tie downs with no muss, no fuss.

When I buy a new cell phone, TV, computer, game system, etc., I put all of the paperwork, receipts, instruction manuals in a large freezer bag and label it. That way, when I need to look at the manuals, or donate it at a later date, I can locate it quickly, and the new owner gets all of the manuals they need.

Want to store meat so it thaws faster? Put about one pound of ground beef in a large Ziploc® Double Guard® Freezer Bag and flatten it like a pancake. It stores more easily and thaws more quickly.

I have long used the quart size Freezer Bags to sort and store greeting cards: Birthday, Halloween, Easter Etc. Since my mother and I rubber stamp, the snack bags are prefect for storing those small snip-its of papers and ribbons, etc. used for decorating cards.

When I freeze meat, I put the meat and the marinade into a Ziploc Freezer Bag. The defrosting time in the fridge is just the right length of time for the meat to marinate before going on the grill.

I Love the freezer Ziploc bags because when i make my spaghetti sauce i make a great big cooker of it at one time, I fill a gallon freezer bag of sauce lay it flat to cool and then place them in my freezer stacked on top of each other to freeze, it saves on freezer space and costly containers. When making my holiday cookies ahead of time. I stack and freeze in a 1 or 2 gallon Freezer Bags with pieces of waxed or parchment paper between the layers.

My favorite use for Ziploc Sandwich Bags is to use them to make individual hamburger patties and store them in the freezer. I insert about 1/4 lb. of ground beef in a Ziploc Sandwich Bag, squeeze out the air, and seal. Then working from the outside of the bag, I roll the beef into a ball, then gently flatten it out. The pattie forms inside the bag, my hands stay clean, and it is sealed and ready for the freezer in seconds! Since we don't store the patties for very long in the freezer, the Ziploc Sandwich Bags offer plenty of protection; however, one could use Ziploc Freezer Bags instead.

Ziploc bags enable me to buy meat in bulk, divide up the meat into several portions, and freeze it. Whenever I cook I just take out one bag and defrost it.
