Brining the Thanksgiving turkey
This year everyone is talking about brining the Thanksgiving turkey. The instructions say to "soak the turkey in a clean 5 gallon bucket". Once the turkey is in the bucket, where am I going to put it to keep the turkey cold?? I live in Hawaii! A co-worker told me she uses her beach cooler. OK, now we're getting somewhere. I use a Ziploc Big Bag to soak the turkey and covered it with a 20 pound bag of ice. Perfect!! I could easily turn the turkey to make sure all sides were evenly soaked... The turkey was great! Thanks for making a product big enough to hold a 21 lb turkey with 2 gallons of brine. Happy Thanksgiving!

Greasing the pan
I always place a sandwich baggie over my hand before greasing a pan(such as a 9X13 pan), or before spreading cake/cookie/bar dough in a pan. Many cake, casserole and other recipes call for the pan to be greased. Many other recipes ask for you to smooth the mixture out in the pan.Place the baggie over your hand, grease the pan, then pull the baggie off when done so the greased part is now on the inside of the baggie. Same when spreading a sticky or doughy mixture, Then throw the baggie away and call it good! No fuss, no muss!

Salad dressing on the go
When I take a salad to work I put my salad dressing in a Ziploc Sandwich Bag, then put it inside the container with my salad. (I sometimes do the same thing with meat or cheese that will be added to the salad.)Then when I am ready to eat my salad I take the bag out, clip off a bottom corner, squeeze the dressing on my salad, then dispose of the bag. There is no soggy salad and no messy dressing container to wash.

Holidays & Entertaining

Ready-to-heat mashed potatoes
For the Holidays, I make my mashed potatoes in advance and put them in a Ziploc Bag. I fill them up just enough so they lie flat when filled up with the potates. Do not over-fill or they will not heat evenly. Then we we are ready to dinner, I place them on a microwave-safe dish and heat them up in the micro. This saves a lot of time, and they are just as good, if not better.

Bread that's ready to bake
I got tired of having to gather and measure ingredients, then wash dishes when making bread in my bread maker. I now measure all the dry ingredients (except yeast) for a single loaf of bread and put into a Ziploc Storage Bag. I make up 10-20 of these. When I want to bake bread, I just add water and yeast and there is no mess to clean up!

Getting to the bottom of flour
I hate when I use my canister for flour and sugar etc.. and the scoop cannot get the last bit to use up when baking/cooking. I use the gallon size and quart size as a liner in my canisters and now when I want to et the las bit I can just pull the Ziploc Bag out and pour into measuring cup. This also helps keep the critters out by zipping up the bags in the canister.

Vacuum sealing strawberries and more
I wanted to use a Vacuum Freezer System since I was tired of the mess and hassle of the sucking-with-a-straw system. But the cost was so prohibitive! I found the Ziploc Vacuum Freezer system and was glad to fork over the four bucks. What a simple, convenient product! I just LOVE it. I've put up strawberries and breads and use the bags for block cheese storage in the fridge. I'll carry them with me to the beach and on outings to carry wet clothes!
